Chaser.........

I have come to believe that Chaser should be my nickname. Looking over the past year, I have come to realize that "chasing" is what I spend an awful lot of time doing. Amazing the amount of chasing I do. Really. It is, well, just a little crazy ;)

Ruffles
In the summertime on beautiful San Juan Island I chase whales with Kacie and Jerry. Chasing whales is what I LOVE MOST OF ALL. For the last 16 years, we've been spending time out on this remote island in the Salish Sea, chasing the whales of J-Clan.

Up and down the west side of the island we drive with an ear on the marine radio, our eyes constantly on the azure water searching for dorsal fins.  The thrill that I feel when we catch sight of these beautiful, intelligent, wonderous animals is, well HUGE, and soooo worth the chase. LOVE LOVE LOVE the whales, and there's

nothing like being in their company. NOTHING. They are MAGNIFICENT, truly, and if only humankind could be more like them, the world would be a much better place.  Honest. These photos are of Ruffles, J-1, and for 14 years, no trip to the island was complete without seeing this handsome boy.  Ruffles passed away during the winter season 2010-2011, but he will forever remain in our hearts, and when we see the other big boys of J-clan?  I think of Ruffles every time, wishing I could see his very tall and wavy dorsal again.  Fortunately, he had a fabulous life (and fathered many of the young whales), he estimated to be in his early 60's, and, well, he was an absolutely amazing part of J-pod.

With the SIM CREW I chase ghosts, year-round. In the paranormal world I am known as a sensitive meaning that I know when otherworldly presences are near. The SIM Crew has been chasing ghosts for over two years, and we are very good at what we do. Is it because we are phenomenal investigators?
Stanley's Ghost Lady
Perhaps, but it doesn't hurt that four of us share in this unique sensitivity. In fact, I have come to the conclusion that spirits are attracted to us because they somehow know that we are aware of them. Interesting theory isn't it? Chasing ghosts is thrilling to say the least, and Exciting? Yes. Absolutely. And sometimes, even scary ;)   The above photo is the ghost lady of Stanley's, photograph captured in March of 2010.  Look in the window, just under the yellow light.  She is there, and has been for many, many years.

Joan Jett and me

We Jettheads definately got lucky
with Joan: Debi, Joan, Kacie, and me :)
With Kacie, I chase Joan Jett. Odd? Well, maybe. Kacie and I have been to four Joan Jett and the Blackheart shows in the last year, and we've had the amazing experience of meeting this phenomenal woman twice. The last time was on St. Patty's day, a bunch of us "Jettheads" made the journey and even had tshirts made up.  You know, I just had to hug her.  I walked up to her and said "Joan, I just have to hug you."  Come on, I give good hugs ;)  Joan?  Smiled, laughed and then put her arms around me, and gave me a good squeeze!  Me?  Well I was over the moon-of course ;)  It's not every day you get to have a hug out with the Queen of Rock and Roll.  Joan is so genuine, gracious, and down to earth, really I felt like we were two old friends, visiting, chatting, giggling.  She made me feel absolutely Wonderful.   And, she remembered my Kacie from the last time we met her.  Unbelievable isn't it?  The JJBH chase? Sometimes it's a long one, the last show we went to was in Manistee, Michigan and the drive  was about 14 hours each way. This summer, after chasing whales on the island (oh and maybe a few ghosts as well, we will check out the old mausoleum there), we will chase Joan again.  Yep, we will be in the the always crazy crowd at the JJBH show in Snoqualime, WA.  Hey, it's only 30 miles from Seattle, OF COURSE WE HAVE TO GO :)

So there you go.  In addition to whales, ghosts, and Joan Jett (what do they have in common really? Nothing but me ;) it seems like I'm always chasing. Chaser? I like it ;)
